Thomas and his team did a great job in installing our new bannisters, spindles and doors for the cupboard under the stairs. Rachael initially came round , measured up, shared the options of finishes and provided costing for the different options.Thomas and his team then took over the installation, arriving on time working efficiently and cleaning up well at the end of each day. It was quite impressive to see the manual craftsmanship that goes into preparing the wood and great to see it develop over the days. The installation was completed on time, looked fantastic and the team were ultra professional throughout. No hidden costs and Thomas was super attentive to the detail to ensure everything was perfect. Overall a great job and I would definitely recommend them.

From the initial contact and visit with Racheal who very diligently and professionally takes you through the options and designs to the actual installation by Thomas and his team this was an excellent service and experience.The installers were all very polite, timely, tidy and respectful of our home and complete professionals throughout.The quality of workmanship, attention to detail and final product is second to none and we are very very happy with our new staircase.Highly recommended.

Our experience with this company was fantastic from day one. Rachel was very knowledgeable and arrived with samples. She was able to answer all our questions and suggest the best fittings for our needs. She explained everything in layman's terms, so we understand the products, service and the process.Once we decided to go ahead the job was booked in and measurements were double checked before the fitting day. The fitters were brilliant and included Thomas, the owner of the company. We were very impressed with the attention to detail and the quality of the workmanship. I don't think you could fault it at all. July 2022 we decided to have our stairs replaced with an oak and glass staircase The transformation is absolutely outstanding. Rachael gave us a variety of options for the oak and glass we wanted. Shi did a fantastic job in the renovation and the team provide a very professional service. Thomas Ferns had been recommended by a family member who also had a fantastic job carried out.I would recommend Thomas Ferns to anyone looking for a high quality staircase.

Thomas Fearns recently installed a replacement oak staircase in my house.The work was to the highest standard of craftsmanship you could hope for, they really strive to do a perfect job.They made, received and responded to suggestions for variations and augmentations to the details of the original concept as the work progressed to get the best outcome possible, given the constraints of the existing building structures.

Really pleased with my staircase, Worth the wait. Extremely clean and tidy work and whilst the staircase was challenging due to the age of the house, the guys were great to resolve any unexpected challenges!Would highly recommend. The glass opens up the hallway and let’s do much light in.

We are delighted with our new staircase - it has made such a difference to our home even though we kept our original carpets. It looks like a lovely art installation in the centre of the house. We were keen to use a local business and after reading the reviews and Rachael's informative visit we booked the work. The work took a little longer than expected, but the finish is beautiful and Thomas, Rob and Shy have sorted some areas around the skirtings that have looked messy for years. They were a great team of craftsmen and were respectful of our home so were comfortable to have working in the house with us. I originally worried that glass might not be in keeping with our Edwardian era house, but it looks amazing and has enhanced the first and second floors. The company deserves its five stars.

Rachel came and did the initial design and showed us plenty of pictures of staircases that Thomas had installed. She had plenty of ideas and together we agreed on a design and date. Thomas arrived a couple of weeks before the agreed installation date and did the final and more comprehensive site survey. On the agreed day Thomas arrived with all the materials and Joe.Couldn't belive how quick Joe completed the job , a very talented guy. Had a query about the job as it neared completion , so rather than wait till the Mon to ring Thomas I rang him on a Sunday afternoon expecting to get his answer phone .But he answered my call and reassured me that he understood my worries and they would address them when they returned.After speaking to him I realised I had nothing to worry about and his idea from the start of the install of the stairs was the correct one.From start to finish the job went smoothly and I have to say all who were involved were professional and polite .Would have no problem in recommending Thomas and his team

I needed an extra handrail as I was struggling with mobility issues but decided we'd go mad and have a full staircase renovation!We definitely made the right decision as it has totally transformed what was just a basic staircase. Everyone who has come into the house since has commented on it.Thomas came with Rob and they worked their magic in just a few days. The standard of the work is outstanding. They are completely dedicated to providing a professional finish and have a very high work ethic. It's 5 months since we had our renovation and still, each day, I consider myself fortunate on having picked Thomas to do the work. Anyone thinking of renovating their staircase then please don’t hesitate to contact Thomas Fern. You won’t regret it. The quality, work and attention to detail has been outstanding by Thomas Fern himself and the team. Rachael from initial contact, explaining technical terminology, quotes, home visit and samples was great and very patient in answering all of our questions. The installation team which included Thomas himself, Shy and Rob did a fantastic job. I am super impressed with what I believe is the best house investment decision made. Just can’t stop looking at the transformation!

We have just had our staircase renovated by this company and we are extremely delighted with the end result, it looks stunning! Our initial appointment was with Rachael who explained everything really well and had samples to hand to help with decision making with regard to finishes etc. She was helpful in the design process too, without being pushy or overbearing! The price quoted, although expensive, was very competitive and did not alter upon completion even though extra tweaks/materials were needed. Prior to installation, Thomas visited and explained things clearly, making suggestions to help clarify exactly what we wanted. The installation itself did take a little longer than expected but Thomas and his colleague kept us informed about this.The work was carried out to a very high standard and their attention to detail was exceptional and the overall finish is perfect. They cleaned and cleared up as they went a long and took all the old staircase bits and pieces away with them. There was minimal damage to the surrounding walls but even this was filled before they left.Could not recommend this company enough for their outstanding service from start to finish.

We recently had a staircase renovation completed by Thomas Ferns and from our initial enquiry and subsequent first visit through to survey and then the job itself the service, attention to detail and professionalism was first class. We was unsure whether to also have the under stairs storage included but decided too and the finish is first class and it is an eye catching feature as you walk into our home. We would have no hesitation in recommending Thomas Ferns.

Absolutely love our new stairs, after a full house renovation we really had no idea what we wanted, We just knew we would like something modern with glass to fit in with the rest of the house, Tom recommended we go for Oak which I’m so glad we did now, such good quality and changes the look of our hallway, my partner was so impressed with the workmanship involved with the attention to detail was first class, due to having a downstairs toilet installed we was left with a tricky space but that was no trouble at all for Tom and his team, we would recommend them to anyone looking for top quality staircase and the bonus is they left my hallway cleaner than when they arrived! From the moment that Rachael came to the house to design and quote, the Company was utterly professional in every way. Thomas and Rob were exceptionally clean and tidy whilst working and totally respective of our property. They displayed qualities so often missing in life today, politeness, communication and courtesy.

In September 2018 we had our old, boarded staircase replaced with a new oak and glass staircase and also had a large under stairs walk-in cupboard removed. The transformation is amazing and we are absolutely delighted with the finished product.Thomas, Rachael and the team provide a very professional service and their attention to detail is spot on. Thomas is very approachable and gives solid advice. The job took just over two days and the on-site team of Rob, Calum and Joe worked extremely hard, were friendly and polite, and remained cheerful despite having to go back and forth in continuous pouring rain. I was pleasantly surprised that there was so little dust and mess but in any case the lads cleaned up at the end of each day. I have attached some before and after photos to show the great results of their efforts.I have no hesitation in recommending Thomas Ferns to anyone looking for a high quality staircase renovation.
